This was my midterm and on-arrival in one!... Athen 22.jan.09 - 25.jan.09!
This is the story of the midterm/on-arrival.......

We took the train at 24.00 (You do not want to know what happened on the train!!!!) and we arrived at 08.40 in the morning. I forgot to take pictures, not very good.... When we arrived I was very tired and my back was hurting from all the heavy lifting of my bags. And we were supposed to take the bus to the hotel but we took the wrong one............ But after a while, finely we arrived at the hotel.
Day 1.crying
The hotel was OK. We were the first one to check in to our rooms. I liked my room it was mint green. I had a balcony next to my bed and long white curtains. It was very calming. I slept the rest of the free-time that we had and went up at 19.00. I went down and I met a lot of people and I felt very tired. I met a guy from Finland and he could speak Swedish and that was nice!
We all met in a big room and set down on cheers in a circle. We were about 40 people. Me, Sophie and 4 more people were the only once that did not have an on-arrival. The trainers were very nice and easy to be around and to speak with. Because of my diagnose (aspberges ADHD) and the problems I have it was hard for me to be social in such a big group of people I did not know, and that I had to be social in. But I was trying my best and I made some new friends. We were dancing and hugging and listening when the trainers talked. They give us free wine, I did not drink but the wine finished fast. We were split up in too groups, G and F, I was in F. We did not work in our groups until the next day. The first night everyone was together.

Day 2.smile
The next day we talked about our organisations and what is good/bad and try to solve the problems in small groups. And between all thing we did the trainer made us dance and play games. This day was our night of so we were free after 19.00. I followed a small group of 10 out and we went with the subway 10 minutes to a place I do not remember the name of but it had a small bar so we all ran there. And we ran there course it was raining heavily, I have never seen that much rain. But as I said before I have a hard time being social, I just feel uncomfortable and restless so I went home after only 30 minutes.

Day 3.laughing
This day was about possibilities. This part of the seminar was very emotional for me. It was very hard to think about the future and what pats my life would take. The trainer asked us to write a personal letter to ourselves that they would send to us at a time we could choose. This exercise was very, very good. This is something I think you could do more in your life. This afternoon we all took the bus in to Athens and we went to the official comic festival laughing. It was a great experience that I would like to share with my mother, father and boyfriend they would like it very much. The drawings were amazing! The festival was held in an old factory of some sort and they had really nice light settings both outside and inside. After we had been looking around by ourselves for about 3 hours we went to dinner with the whole group together at ”The Butcher”. Disgusting name but really nice food. After the food, around 22.00 everyone went out to party a little before the bus was suppose to pick us up at 24.30. I were with a group that was going to a gay bar! That was a new experience towink. We staid there until the bus came.

Day 4.wassat
The last day, evaluation day. The evaluation day went well. To be honest I do not remember exactly what we did except we wrote individually what we think about the project and things like that and this day we were in the big room all together. They also informed us about the strike and the roadblocks and that some of us had to stay longer. My project was one of those who had to stay. Then we said goodbye and people started to go home. We had to stay one day more.

Day 5. angry
The trip home was very exhausting we went from the hotel at 21.00 and were home at 10.00 the next day.

The exercises we did was very good and I learned much about the project that I did not know. It was very nice to meet more people that was volunteering. And I hope to see some of them again.

Sometimes I just want to hit myself in the head with a frying pan!!! To day I was going to put up all the pictures on Facebook... BUT, I deleted the whole folder by mistake instead. Isn't that just OLA KALA!!! angry
